El McMeen
American guitarist
TablEdit is a wonderful program for a guitarist like me who usually works from tablature, but is also familiar with musical notation, note values, keys, and time signatures. I have written two full-length guitar transcription books for Mel Bay Publications utilizing TablEdit -- "The Art of Dropped D Guitar" and "The Art of Gospel Guitar".
The support and dedication of the TablEdit people are extraordinary, and I highly recommend this program to my students, and guitarists and other musicians with whom I interact. I have also written a book for classical string trio -- violin, viola, and cello -- using TablEdit. That book is called "Celtic Treasures for String Trio". El McMeen
El McMeen, guitarist, is an internationally acclaimed acoustic guitar player, who hails from central PA, USA.
El has been listed among the "100 Greatest Acoustic Guitarists".
Three of his guitar CD's have been listed among the "100 Greatest Acoustic Guitar Albums".
His composition and performance of “Le Mans” won First Prize (Instrumental) in the 6th Annual International Acoustic Music Awards contest in 2009. El has concertized throughout the United States, but is now concentrating on guitar instruction, workshops, and writing, in addition to composing and arranging pieces for guitar. El has written many books of guitar pieces, including several major folios written or co-written for Mel Bay Publications
He has also recorded three DVD lessons for Stefan Grossman’s Guitar Workshop.
While he plays many styles, El's music is characterized by lyrical beauty and a sensitivity to melodic phrases enhanced with tasteful arpeggios, cross-picking, and walking bass lines. His uptempo pieces evidence energy and pulse. His artistry has been praised by numerous publications, including Acoustic Guitar Magazine, Fingerstyle Guitar Magazine and Guitar Player Magazine. When El isn’t playing guitar, he is involved in Christian lay ministry work and outreach.
