I have never understood why its so expensive to get decent software to write music, and I sure didn't have the money to spare when I first started teaching the Mountain Dulcimer years ago. Enter TablEdit, and I had the ability to TAB out my own music, and maybe more important, fix some of the inaccurate/bad handwritten TAB that is out there for this instrument. What I like best about the software is the ability to pretty quickly put together TAB that is clear for my students. I like that it is configurable for my instrument, and even though there seem to be a lot of keystrokes to get there, its easier than most to learn and so nice when I'm done.
