"TablEdit is a necessary tool for teaching banjo. I have been teaching bluegrass and old time banjo for several years. TablEdit allows me to customize my students' lessons: They choose what songs they want to pick and I use TablEdit to write arrangements at their level. My favorite feature is that it automatically prints the notation along with the tablature. For my students who already read music, they start seeing familiar pattern in the notation which is much faster that reading tab. For my absolute beginner students the notation gives me a visual to teach the basics of musical note value, beats/measure and chord theory.
