Ringing notes

The ringing note effect allows the selected note to ring for twice it's written duration. This enables you to obtain a natural playback sustain without the clutter of tied notes in both the tablature and standard notation.

In the example below, both measures will sound the same during playback. The solid line extending to the right of the note in the tablature indicates the extended duration.



The ringing note effect should be used sparingly. Some guidelines for its use:
-Use it primarily to edit series of two or more tied notes, each with a duration of a 1/8th note or less.  
-Seldom, if ever, should it be used on a 1/4 note  
-NEVER use it on a half note or whole note.  
-Do not use it where a tied note is more appropriate  
-Do not use it to sustain a note into the next measure
